El Dorado Hills Holiday's
This year is the 50th annual Santa Run for El Dorado Hills. A seasonal favorite, this
tradition started in 1963 and has lived on since. December 17th through December 21st, Santa, Mrs.
Claus and their helpers visit El Dorado Hills neighborhoods, collecting donations and handing out
The run collects unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots and nonperishable foods for the El Dorado
County Food Bank. The sponsor’s donations go directly to the fire departments holiday program,
Santa Kids. The organization finds children throughout the year that have been impacted by illness
or a traumatic event and invites them to ride on the fire engine with Santa during the parade. If
the child is too ill to travel on the fire engine, the parade comes to them.
The El Dorado Hills Fire Department is attempting to beat the 2010 record of 5,535lbs, so stock
up on toys and food to help accomplish this goal!
The Santa Run ends at the El Dorado Hills Town Center. The grand finale starts at 6:00pm
on Saturday, December 21st. Santa will arrive after the parade and the Fire Auxiliary will be
serving complimentary cookies and hot cocoa before the fireworks show.
